The author describes the life and artwork of two Lamorna artists, friends and models and inspirations for the Knights. Ella and Charles Naper lived and painted at the head of the Valley in ‘Trewoofe’ a house and garden they had built for themselves.

Bernard Walke was the eccentric vicar of St Hilary’s Church near Marazio. He became a close friend of Harold Knight, Ernest Procter, Roger Fry and significant local painters who contributed to his church original paintings and sculpture.
